How to reserve your stay

Fall Weekend reservation requests will be accepted until January 15, after which the Registrar will (if necessary) conduct a lottery of requests made by that date, to confirm reservations. Requests for stays made after that date will be filled after lottery participants have been place (generally after May )1 and will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis depending on space availability.

1. Complete an online Fall Weekend Reservation Request including Payment due at time of Request.

2. Each camper in your party must complete and submit the online Liability Waiver Form(s). Send the link to each member of your party! A parent or guardian must complete the form on behalf of Child(ren) whose name(s) appear on your Reservation Request.

A valid AMC member number for each camper must be provided in your request to receive the lower member rate, otherwise campers will be billed at the non-member rate. Family Memberships include up to two adults and any children under 21 living in your household. This membership class does not include family members living outside of your household. There is a limit of 4 cabins/12 people per reservation.  There are two beds per cabin.  Cots are available to add a third person.

Please be sure to provide at least 3 alternative preferences for both cabin and weekend. If your first choice is not available, we will try to accommodate your second choice, and if need be, your third choice.

Please complete the section on the form that specifies SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS and SPECIAL PHYSICAL NEEDS of those in your party.  On Fall weekends we offer meat and vegetarian options with fruit and salads included but can’t accommodate special diets nor avoid cross-contamination for those with severe food allergies. The person named on the form is responsible for payment. Submission of the form indicates your acceptance of our payment and cancellation terms. The Registrar will confirm your reservation contact after receiving your Request and Payment.

Note: One reservation is for one invoice and one weekend. If you need SEPARATE INVOICES or wish to stay MULTIPLE WEEKENDS, please fill out a SEPARATE RESERVATION FORM and include a SEPARATE PAYMENT for each invoice.

Additional Information

Three Mile Island Fall Weekend living is camping in comfort with most of the work eliminated. Here are some things worth knowing to prepare for and enjoy your visit:

Children under four years of age and pets are not allowed. Parents are responsible for the safety and behavior of their children at all times.

Arrivals and departures are from Goodhue / Shep Brown’s Boat Basin, Lovejoy Sands Road, Meredith, NH. Launch times are 5:00 PM and 8:30 PM Friday and 9:00 AM Saturday, from . Departures are between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM on Sunday (Monday for Labor Day). Early arrivals and late departures are not permitted.

Upon arrival at Goodhue / Shep’s, unload your baggage onto the grassy area between the public docks and the public parking lot (to keep the docks uncluttered), and then park in the Three Mile Island parking area, space permitting.

Baggage will not be delivered to the cabins on arrival or picked up on departure (unlike the summer season). Please bring only those essentials which you can carry yourself. (Pack your flashlight on top!)

Campers bringing their own boats should plan to convey them from the mainland themselves whenever possible.

Clothing should be informal and planned for outdoor living. You will need sturdy shoes for walking on rocky paths, warm clothes for cool weather, and rain clothes.

Flashlights are essential! There is electricity at the Change House, Main House and Retreat, but the cabins are not equipped with lighting. Some campers bring solar or battery-powered lanterns to supplement their flashlights in the cabins.

Linens are not provided for fall weekends. Campers should bring sleeping bags, towels and pillowcases.

Solar showers are provided at each cabin, along with biodegradable soap.

Electronic equipment such as cell phones and laptops on TMI is strongly discouraged and is limited to use in cabins only. Drones are expressly prohibited.

Meals are served promptly at 8:00 AM, 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM on Saturday, and 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM on Sunday (through Monday lunch on Labor Day weekend). No meal is served on Friday night. Meals are announced by bugle 15 minutes before the mealtime. Reveille is at 7:30 AM. Please be on time for meals.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate all special diets on Fall weekends, although vegetarian options are available. If you and/or someone in your party need to have vegetarian options, please print names in the space provided below. We need that information to know how many vegetarian meals to cook and usually cannot accommodate ad hoc additions during your stay.

Housekeeping in the cabins is up to the occupants. On departure day cabins should be swept out and wastebaskets emptied in the barrels at the main dock. Each cot should be left with one pillow and two folded blankets. We have a “Carry In Carry Out” policy for all bottles and cans.

Canoes, kayaks, sailboats and paddleboards are available at no charge for use on weekends. The success of the weekend operation by the limited staff is made possible by campers returning boats to the dock area and canoe racks at the end of each day. Please do not keep any boats at your cabin overnight. Always remember to bring 1 life jacket per person when going out in any boat. While underway on a vessel, children 12 and younger must wear a life jacket, as required by New Hampshire law.
